cl1p.net - an internet clipboard

With cl1p.net you can copy and paste between computers.

Just enter in any URL that starts with http://cl1p.net (example: http://cl1p.net/dltqovyirldnodk/) and post. Then from any other computer enter the same URL and copy.

This seems like it could be useful. A good way to move data between computers when there is a firewall in the way or webmail is not available. A USB key does the same thing, but for little snips of data, an internet clipboard works better. It’s also useful for bloggers whose site is down. Compose posts and save to cl1p.net, then copy and paste into your site when it’s back up, even from a different computer. This post, for example, is at cl1p.net/fred.

Web 2.0 or Star Wars Character?

I got 40/43: “As your doctor, I recommend moving out of your parents’ basement.” Not sure if that is due to Star Wars geekitude or web geekitude.

bugmenot.pngWebsense is now classifying Bug Me Not as a “hacking” site, which means that any organization that blocks hacking sites blocks Bug Me Not. This seems like a real stretch, for a site primarily designed to help people avoid registering for sites like the NY Times.

Back from exile

I’ve decided to start blogging again after six months away. Some of you may remember this blog as A Bluegrass Blog, which I wrote while living in Louisville, Kentucky. Over the last six months, I’ve lost one job, found another, moved to St. Louis, spent a few weeks in corporate housing, rented a house (in this town), sold a house, and am now looking for a new house. I archived all the old blog posts, and may bring them back online at some point for posterity.
